Linda’s Homemade Pasta Sauce
Impress your guests with ‘from scratch’ flavor in just minutes!
Ingredients:
2 cups pasta water (see notes)
3 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp chopped garlic
2 Tbsp fennel seed
½ tsp red pepper flakes
½ tsp salt
1 can tomato paste (6-8 oz.)
¼ – ½ cup Cirino’s Bloody Mary Mix
- Have pasta cooking in a separate, large pot with additional 2 Tbsp olive oil and pinch of salt water while preparing sauce.
- Heat olive oil, garlic and dry spices in smaller pot. Cook over medium heat until garlic is tender.
- Add tomato paste and stir to lightly brown the paste.
- Add Cirino’s Bloody Mary Mix and 2 cups of pasta water from other pot.
- Whisk to blend smooth, and add more pasta water as needed to obtain desired consistency.
- EXTRAS – you can add chopped onions, mushrooms, chopped peppers, cooked beef or sausage, cooked meatballs or other ingredients to customize your creation.
- Add prepared pasta to sauce and simmer to meld flavors – then serve warm.
